Is too much of being a fitness freak bad?

“Being healthy and fit isn’t a fad or a trend. It’s a lifestyle. – Anonymous”.
True, isn’t it.  There is nothing wrong to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In fact, we need to keep ourselves fit in the kind of environment we live in today. It is always better to keep a check on our diet and exercise daily to remain fit and healthy. But, is it necessary to be a fitness freak and go beyond your limits your body can allow. Consider a recent case of Bollywood actress, Sridevi, who died of massive cardiac attack in spite of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and exercising regularly.
So, what should we do? Should we stop exercising and just live a normal life? Definitely, not!
But, you must be wondering that too much is how much and why it is bad to be a fitness freak? Let us see some of the reasons why you should not be too much of fitness freak.

1.      Do not punish yourself and your body

We should continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle but only in the certain extent – in fact, to the extent our body can tolerate the fitness regime. It is a belief that being healthy is not just about losing weight but the life you gain. In addition, you also need to know the fact that you exercise to stay fit but not to punish yourself because of what you ate last night.

2.      Eat well, sleep well and lead a stress-free life

In today’s scenario, everything we eat may be unhealthy, so it is very important to always eat the right amount of food and work out appropriately. Exercising too much and eating too little food is also not good for your health. We only need to exercise to the extent of what our body can allow at a point of time.

3.      Exercise because it makes you feel good

We need to exercise as it feels good and makes us happy but not because we feel terrified that we ate too much last night. In addition, we do not exercise because we hate the way our body looks in the mirror. Though, there is nothing wrong to look better because after all appearance is all that matters but do not punish yourself to just make your appearance better.

4.      Stop worrying of what others will say or think about you

We all are different and have diverse qualities, so we need to stop worrying of what others will say or think about us.  Instead, we should focus on what would work for us without thinking too much about others. Not anyone else but its only “we” who can find a way that will suit us based on our body. Health is not a “one-size-fits-all” thing so stop following what others do and maintain a lifestyle that suits you instead.

5.      Always stay positive at all costs because it is the only motto to keep yourself fit and healthy

We should surround ourselves with like-minded people only to bring positivity in our life. Often, it is believed that positive mind brings positive vibes and in turn helps you to lead a positive life. Thus, we must stay positive at all costs and put all the negative thoughts out of the window. Our body listens everything our mind says so we must stay positive.
